Shout out to Tony Poston for the book recommendation!
“What’s the ONE Thing you can do this week such that by doing it everything else would be easier or unnecessary?”
This is an amazing book that became very necessary for me as I like to do everything while getting nothing done. Keller sums up and provides step by step instructions on how to develop and focus your energy on your One Thing at work, relationships, business and overall life. If you’re like me, you like to work on 5 things at once, putting less than 100% energy into each one will not get you to where you want to go. Instead focus on your one thing (which is subject to change) and the most purposeful and productive way to go about achieving it. Example: Instead of making a “to do” list, create a “success” list. A list that is purposefully created around results instead of line items. Keller cites that will power is a finite resource, one that runs dry by the end of the day. So, do all of your most important work first when your will power is strong! Be wary though! When you have extreme focus on your one thing, all else can fall by the way side. Create time blocks in your calendar to focus on yourself, friends, family, etc so you can keep up with the forever revolving world. Don’t let anyone impede your time blocks. Think big and aim high!
I would recommend this book to anyone with a million things going on in their lives or anyone trying to add more purpose and meaning into your everyday life!
